Located in beautiful Sooke, BC on Southern Vancouver Island, you will find a very unique little gallery filled with the work of some of British Columbia’s most diverse artists. Proprietor Jessie Taylor Dodd is an artist herself. She also has another talent for picking out great art and showcasing it to her clients in the Greater Victoria area and to tourists worldwide.

And this Saturday, April 18th, 2015 marks the first year anniversary of her South Shore Gallery. The gallery is planning an Open House with coffee and treats from 12-4pm. Many artists will be in attendance for this event, so come see this colourful, creative collection of original fine art including paintings, prints, ceramics, glass, metal works, jewelry, fibre art, unique gifts and cards.

The gallery also offers custom framing services and a selection of art supplies.

Better still, select your favourite and cut it yourself. U-Cut at Jingle Bell Tree Farm has Christmas trees that you choose and then you cut. Saws are provided by the farm and trees are baled. And to add to the festivities, come and visit the petting zoo of farm animals including Clydesdale Horses and the goats from Beacon Hill Park. Complimentary hot chocolate and coffee will be provided. There is something for the whole family to enjoy. We recommend that you make a morning or an afternoon of it!

Christmas tree varieties include Balsam Fir, Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir, Grand Fir, Noble Fir, Norway Spruce and Scotch Pine.

Summer Music at Mattick’s Farm
Music in the square is a free, outdoor series held in Mattick’s Farm. The events take place on Saturdays and Sundays, from July to August, 1-3pm. These performances are family-friendly, so bring your lawn chairs and get ready to enjoy the music with family and friends. There is a always a diverse selection of music, so you will find something for every musical taste.

Come early and enjoy the shops and boutiques at Mattick’s Farm. You can have lunch or get some dessert after you stake out your spot at Adrienne’s Restaurant and Tea Garden.
