A total waste of time.

When you arrive, you pick up a hand saw and a cart, and set off to find the tree that you like, then cut it down and haul it back to your vehicle on the cart. A lot of folks consider that to be fun, and perhaps even therapeutic. It is also a choice to do it that way.

Because the trees are so fresh, they last so much longer than the store-bought tree that was harvested week before you buy it. This way you can have your tree standing in water within half an hour, so it continues taking in water right through the Christmas period, and the needles therefore don’t die and drop off.

Luckily my kids are young and didn’t pick up on the lacklustre vibe. Poor selection of trees considering the cost of $45.
Glad there’s plenty of competition because we definitely won’t be going back next year.

Many of the Christmas Tree Farms may be able to fill your request. You will find locations here:
http://saanichtonvillage.ca/looking-for-a-christmas-tree/

We tried calling Jingle Bell Tree Farm but got their voicemail and so it will be best for you to call them directly.

7969 Wallace Drive
Saanichton, (Victoria) British Columbia V8M 4M9
Phone 250-652-2771

And some nurseries will have potted trees as well.

Not sure where on the Island you are located but if you are near Victoria, GardenWorks has potted blue spruce trees. We recommend calling ahead before venturing out. We called GardenWorks to help get you started and here is what two locations had in-stock:

Saanich Location
4290 Blenkinsop Road, Saanich, B.C.
Phone: 250-721-2140
8 potted blue spruce trees currently in-stock, 4-6 feet tall

Oak Bay Location
1916 Oak Bay Avenue Victoria, B.C.
Phone: 250-595-4200
Largest size in-stock right now is 2 feet tall

Happy Holidays!
